Responsible Dog Walking:
Kendal & South Lakes
Contrary to popular opinion, posh pooches do sometimes walk rather than just spread out akimbo in front of a roaring log fire. In fact, the dogs we walk like to get dirty too and enjoy a thorough rub down. But then again, we do put our heart and soul into our dog walks to ensure they have a walk of their lives. We strive to provide walks which stimulate and enrich our canines...leaving them excited for the next outing. As a dog walker in Kendal and South Lakeland, I have plenty of dog-lovable walks to choose from.
The thing about Lakes & Fells Dog Walking Company is that we pride ourselves on providing a bespoke service, which is tailored to your special pooch. Our business is founded upon the provision of one-to-one dog walks. In essence, that means we tend to walk no more than 1 dog at any one time, and certainly no more than two. We are about great quality and not about maximising profits through quantity...such as when a dog walker lets 4 to 7 dogs run mad in the local woods...usually when other dogs are being walked on their lead, or younger children are walking with their families. And nor do we simply plump for putting 10 or more dogs in a gated field to run riotous for several hours!
We pride ourselves on providing a more intimate and dedicated service for the canines in our care. We do not use a van to transport our pooches; we use our estate car with its cosy rear space, to get from A to B. This method also provides for a more intimate journey between walker and dog. However, we only ever transport your dog by car should stimulating or idyllic walks be unreachable on foot, or alternatively, you fancy your pooch going further afield for their outdoor adventure.
We strive to keep your canine friend happy and relaxed so familiar walks can be incorporated into our service. Do share your routes with us in and around Kendal or further afield and we can strive to tread the same path unless you desire something different.

We offer fellwalking as the ultimate dog walk, with the option of a 4 or 6 hour session, including travel time. In keeping with our standard walks, a photo diary of your dog's day in the fells or by the lake, will also be created.
4 hours - £90.00
6 hours - £140.00
Travel Expenses
I should like not to charge mileage, but for clients living further afield than Kendal, I do charge a standard £5.00 per visit for dog walking. For instance, if you live in Endmoor, Staveley, or Windermere, the additional charge would apply. One way to avoid the additional fuel charge is to encourage another family to use my dog walking service to coincide with the same time (or perhaps before or after) I walk your own pooch. This also supports our green credentials, for we want to be as environmentally responsible as possible.

Committed to Stopping Dog Theft
|
Post it, tweet it, pin it, forget it! As much as we like social media, we are not in the habit of posting live updates about our walks to Facebook as we regard this as a serious safeguarding issue for both you and your pooch. Instead, we will provide email/text updates.
We know that dog theft is a crime problem in the UK so as a responsible dog walking business, we would never use Facebook to publicise the beautiful dogs in our care...it is far too easy for professional dog thieves to use social media to link a particular dog to their family address. Should you ever come across a dog walker who uses social media to update clients, please run a mile. |
As a responsible dog walker, I am wholeheartedly committed and want to play my part in stopping dog theft in Kendal and South Lakeland. This influences the way I approach my dog care business and inevitably the way in which I walk dogs or provide care whilst in the throes of dog sitting.
1. I do not let dogs off the lead. Instead, I favour a longer lead...the pooch has their freedom, but I know precisely where they are! However, should your dog pull, a longer lead is neither effective nor safe and thus cannot be used. 2. I do not use social media to provide live updates. Many dog walkers use Facebook to attract further business...I would never put business before canines or their families. 3. I mix up my dog walking routine. |
